Households across Singapore will pay the same refuse collection rates starting 1 January 2015, once the final four sectors join the Uniform Fee (UF) scheme implemented by the National Environment Agency (NEA).

People living in the Ang Mo Kio-Toa Payoh, Hougang-Punggol, Woodlands-Yishun and Tanglin-Bukit Merah sectors will pay a UF rate of $7.49 and $24.81 per month for HDB and landed property respectively, inclusive of GST.

The rates are higher than what residents in those areas currently pay. For instance, HDB and landed property dwellers in Ang Mo Kio-Toa Payoh pay $4.82 and $17.12 respectively every month for rubbish collection, according to media reports.

Introduced in 2012, the UF scheme was first rolled out in the two sectors of Pasir Ris-Tampines and Bedok, followed by the three sectors of Jurong, Clementi and City in 2013.
